New Years Resolutions

⭐️It’s 2023….time for NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS….what do you think of them ?
And ..have you made New Year’s resolutions in the past ??
And …a better question… have you kept the resolutions that you have made ??
I am 54 years old …and I’ve made resolutions year after year….ok I probably didn’t make a resolution in the first 10 or so years of my life…so for the past 44 years I’ve made resolutions to try to better myself…and my family.
“I will not…
eat sugar..
eat carbs…
drink alcohol…
shop…
spend…
eat after 7:00pm…
after 8:00pm…
after 10:00pm…
I’m giving up gluten…
I will eat 2 meals…
6 meals…
10 meals a day…
I will only drink my meals…
I’ll get up early…
I’ll start running…
I’ll save 10% of my paycheck …
I won’t eat takeout…
I’ll organize something every day ….
I’ll be smarter with my time…
my energy…
I’ll spend more time with …
my Mom…
my Dad…
my husband …
my kids…
my best friend ….
 
Ughhhhhh….I can go on and on and I have NEVER followed through on any of them….
(Ok in all honesty… I did keep my 2022 resolution of writing my clients workouts the night before so I’m more prepared—-and I am seriously proud of myself!)
And….I’m not complaining about the January/February “rush” to get fit…lose weight…tone…slim down…bulk up…build muscle..improve your cardiovascular system…lower your cholesterol…improve digestion…etc…
I love the enthusiasm but when we set ourselves up with ridiculous goals… no one wins .
This year ..2023…I will not proclaim my resolution… I will not put out goals and restrictions that I cannot possibly live with.. LIFE IS TOO SHORT and THE DAYS ARE TOO LONGGGGG… WE SHOULD NOT BE MISERABLE…
But….what I will do is LIST the things that make ME feel healthy, strong and energized and I will TRY to incorporate them in my everyday life…but I won’t “fail” if I don’t “succeed” every day…it’s called balance !
⭐️1…drink a gallon of water a day because it makes me feel lighter…it’s better for my digestion…it’s amazing for my skin and relieves edema
⭐️2…restrict sugar..in all forms… I realized that sugar is not my friend… it makes me feel bloated (no one likes bloat)…gives me a headache as I’m crashing down from the short-lived high…and giving it up is not as horrible as you think and so very much worth it.
⭐️3…limit alcohol consumption…only for special occasions/reasons…plus you know ➡️sugar…plus empty calories and it aids in dehydration… Ughhhhhh
⭐️4… I want to lift on my own …on my equipment…atleast twice a week…this is just for ME. And if you don’t understand…teaching 20++ classes a week isn’t the same as lifting on my own…
…ok so I kinda did shout it out for all to hear
Soooooo… all I meant to say was HAPPY NEW YEAR …what I want you to hear is….
do the things that make you happy…the things that make you feel healthy and strong…
move your butt…
pick heavy stuff up and put them down…
sweat a little…
eat healthy, whole, real food with a treat sprinkled in here and there…
and for 🙏🏻 sake have some FUN….
don’t take life so seriously and have a heathy, prosperous and beautiful 2023⭐️
